How NOT To Make Slime

I tried making slime with a friend recently since that seems to be what all the cool kids are doing nowadays. We thought we’d be fine with no instructions. Boy, were we wrong. Check out the video above and I will list an incorrect recipe below.

How NOT to make slime recipe:
  • A whole bottle of glue, plus a little more when you think you’ve made it too watery.
  • Some eye contact solution. Squeeze a bunch at the beginning, then some more when you don’t know what else to do.
  • Beads to add fun confetti,
  • Orbeez. They’re fun to touch.
  • Some amount of shaving cream. Squeeze out until it feels right.
  • Flour. A little or a lot. It’s not going to help you now.
  • Eye contact container (optional)
  1. Put all ingredients in a bowl in whatever order you’d like.
  2. Mix with a reusable chopstick or your hands.

  1. This is hilarious. And also pretty much the method followed by my middle school students when we made it in class.

  2. We thought maybe we should have gotten borax. πŸ˜‚ And good to know! I don’t bake a ton so only had one of them. Lol

  3. LOL. I thought you needed Borax and glue. πŸ˜‰ I’ve never made it, so it’ll probably just add to the mess. For future reference, baking powder is a mix of baking soda and cream of tartar (tartaric acid, which is made from wine). It does the same thing as vinegar and baking soda when it gets wet. That’s how it makes food rise. It would have foamed up pretty good in the mix though. LOL

  4. πŸ˜‚ this hit home with me. I tried to make slime with my little cousins and it kinda went in that order. This was great.

  5. Haha, I love this alternative take on how not to make slime. Don’t think I’ll be giving it a go anytime soon…

  6. It’s definitely an art form and very precise. My daughters make it all the time and they’re like scientists the way they go about it. Good try though.

  7. Hahahaha I always made such a mess out of making slime…. I can totally relate to you here! Glad to see I’m not the only one that makes an actual mess out of the whole thing, hehehe

  8. Oh my gosh, I wish I had watched this a couple of weeks ago… my little cousins decided that they wanted me to make slime with them when I came to babysit. “Don’t worry, we have a great recipe,” they promised me. It was sheer chaos and needless to say, you shouldn’t always take the word of a 6- and 9-year old when it comes to a messy craft!
